The second untreated control replicate from the Brooks 2011 pasilla knockdown study, Drosophila melanogaster S2-DRSC cells, single-end 45 bp Illumina Genome Analyzer II reads. Together with SRR031708 it forms the untreated arm of the Phalaena four-sample slice. We use this sample in the bulk RNA-seq pipeline's mixed-layout verification (single-end controls plus paired-end knockdowns in one submission). The 45 bp read length degrades Salmon mapping against the default k=31 index (validation finding #16); the pipeline runs to completion regardless.
