GIAB Han Chinese son (NA24631 / HG005), one Illumina HiSeq 2500 run of PE149 short reads. 23.8 million paired reads before fastp (11,904,087 spots on the SRA run SRR2831455), aligned to GRCh38. HG005 is the son of the GIAB Han Chinese trio, the East-Asian-ancestry counterpart to the Ashkenazi HG002 trio. We use this sample as the first East-Asian-ancestry verification input for the genomics short-read pipeline: it adds a population background and allele-frequency spectrum the European (NA12878) and Ashkenazi (HG002) slots do not cover, and it runs the full variant-discovery flow to completion with a published GIAB high-confidence call set available upstream for cross-checking.
